Which SYNC Navigation map version do I have?
You can find the map version with your SYNC®* system using the instructions found in this article.
Finding Your SYNC Navigation Map Version
Select your SYNC generation from the drop-down options below to learn how to obtain your current Navigation map version. If you need assistance determining the generation of your SYNC system, select the first drop-down option.
Note: Map versions are not available for SYNC 4A and SYNC 4. They are included with your vehicle's Software Updates.
Identifying Your Vehicle's SYNC Generation

SYNC 3
To see your current map version using SYNC 3:
- Press Settings on your SYNC screen.
- Select General.
- Tap About SYNC.
Your Navigation Map version will be displayed.
SYNC with MyFord Touch®
To see your current map version using SYNC with MyFord Touch:
- Press Menu.
- Select Help.
- Tap System Information.
Your Navigation map version will be displayed (a letter followed by a number).
SYNC with Voice-Activated Navigation
Next-Generation Navigation
To see your map version using Next-Generation Navigation:
- Press the "I" hard button.
- Choose System Info.
The map version will be displayed as a number followed by the letter X.
Navigation "P" Version
To see your map version using Navigation "P" Version:
- Press the Menu hard button.
- Select System Info.
The map version will be in the lower right corner as a number followed by the letter P.
*Don’t drive while distracted. Use voice-operated systems when possible; don’t use handheld devices while driving. Some features may be locked out while the vehicle is in gear. Not all features are compatible with all phones.
