Connect Your Ford With Your Phone

With a modem-enabled vehicle, you can add your VIN to the Ford app to unlock remote features, GPS, Roadside Assistance, and more.

Ready To Connect? Here’s How:

Download the Ford app from the App Store® or Google Play and follow the prompts to set up your account.

  1. Sign into the app with your Ford Account or create a Ford Account if you don't already have one.
  2. Open the Ford app, add your vehicle to the garage by following the prompts, then select Connect to Vehicle.
  3. Enter and start your vehicle.
  4. Wait for the message to appear on your vehicle screen and accept the activation confirmation pop-up.
  5. Refresh your Ford app.
  6. Software updates will help keep your Ford performing at its peak. Schedule convenient times for software updates from your menu on the center display.

Are complimentary remote features available for my vehicle?

Yes. When you download the Ford app you get access to features like remote start, lock and unlock, and vehicle stats.

What do I need to do before I can start using remote features?

Make sure you’re fully connected:

  1. Your vehicle needs an activated embedded modem.
  2. Your vehicle needs to be added to the Ford app garage.
How do I remove a vehicle from the app garage?
  1. First, go to the garage screen.
  2. If you have multiple vehicles in your garage, scroll to the vehicle you'd like to delete.
  3. Tap Remove Vehicle.
  4. Tap Remove Vehicle again to confirm the action.
  5. You’ve successfully removed your vehicle.
What should I do if remote start stops working?
  1. Make sure you’re logged into the Ford app with the correct credentials.
  2. Make sure your vehicle isn’t in Deep Sleep Mode.
  3. Check your instrument cluster to see that Remote Start is on:

    - Navigate to Settings > Vehicle > Remote Start > System
    - Set Remote Start to on

  4. Make sure your hood and trunk are closed.
  5. Verify that the Check Engine Light isn’t on — check the Ford app message center for Check Engine Light notifications.
  6. You’ll have to resolve any Check Engine Light causes before you can use the app’s Remote Start feature.
