Description
In some of the affected vehicles, water can ingress at the interface between the camera at the top of the tailgate and the tailgate park assist sensor interface module tpasim, which may lead to a malfunction in the rear-view camera system.
Safety Risk
If the rear-view camera system malfunctions, you could experience a blue or black screen or an intermittent loss of the rear camera display while the vehicle is in reverse. A loss of the rear camera image while in reverse increases the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Parts and software are now available to repair your vehicle. Ford Motor Company has authorized your dealer to replace the tailgate top view camera, tpasim module, coax jumper cable, and reprogram the ipma module free of charge.
