2022—2024 Ford Maverick® Truck Rear Turn Signal Outage Notification Safety Compliance Recall

The safety of you and your passengers is an important part of every vehicle we build. That is why we are issuing a recall on the rear turn signals on certain model-year 2022–2024 Ford Maverick® trucks.
If one of the two rear turn signal lamp bulbs is out, the driver will not receive a flashing notification alert. The vehicle will only warn the driver of an outage if both bulbs are out.
Owners will be notified by mail and instructed to take their vehicle to a Ford Dealer or Lincoln Retailer to have the Body Control Module (BCM) software adjusted. You can book an appointment online or in your FordPass® App, or you can contact your local Ford Dealer.

What is the issue tied to this recall?
When one of the two rear turn signal lamp bulbs is out on either side, the customer will not receive an alert that notifies them that the bulb is not working. If the vehicle does not adequately alert other road users of an upcoming turn or lane change, this could increase the risk of a crash.
What is the cause of the issue?
The Body Control Module (BCM) turn signal outage detection software was not configured to detect an outage for only one of the two bulbs. The vehicle would only warn the customer of an outage if both bulbs were out.
What is the expected repair?
Owners will be notified by mail and instructed to take their vehicle to a Ford Dealer or Lincoln Retailer to have the vehicle’s Body Control Module reconfigured.
