Description
On your vehicle, the high-pressure fuel tube connection to the high-pressure fuel pump and fuel rail may not be tightened to specification.
Safety Risk
If the connections are not tightened to specification, it may result in a fuel leak, fuel odor, or the vehicle may not start. Additionally, a fuel leak caused by low torque on the high-pressure fuel tube connections may illuminate the service engine soon warning indicator in the instrument cluster. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of fire.
Remedy
Ford Motor Company has authorized your dealer to inspect the high-pressure fuel tube connections and associated fasteners for proper torque. If the inspection reveals that any component is not torqued properly, your dealer will retorque the affected fasteners to specification or replace the affected components free of charge parts and labor.
