Description

Supercharger upgrade kits that were sold as aftermarket accessories for 2024-2025 my 5.0L mustang vehicles include an updated powertrain control module pcm calibration that incorrectly disabled level 2 L2 functional safety features in the pcm.

Safety Risk

In the event of a pcm level 1 L1 software error, L2 functional safety features will fail to detect an issue, which may result in a failure to prevent unintended acceleration or unintended vehicle movement, increasing the risk of a crash.

Description

On your vehicle, you may experience no reverse motion when the gear selector is placed in reverse. This may result in the vehicle moving forward with the gear selector in either the reverse or neutral position. The malfunction indicator light mil and wrench light will illuminate when this malfunction occurs.

Remedy

Parts are now available to repair your vehicle. Ford Motor Company has authorized your dealer to replace the main control valve body free of charge.

It is possible for water to enter your vehicles body control module bcm, potentially leading to corrosion and failure of the bcm.

Safety Risk

Corrosion in the bcm causes loss of communication with exterior lighting components, and signal lamps that are required to be activated with low beams - front and rear side marker lamps, taillamps, and license plate lamps - are not activated. In addition, side markers and taillamps may flicker and not be steady burning.

Remedy

Parts are now available to repair your vehicle. Ford Motor Company has authorized your dealer to seal the vehicle to prevent water leaking onto the body control module bcm area, inspect the windshield for leaks, reseal the windshield if necessary, inspect the bcm for evidence of water corrosion and repair as necessary, free of charge.

Description

On your vehicle, one or both of the headlamp assemblies light emitting diode driver module ldm may fail, resulting in an inoperative high beam, low beam, daytime running lamp, and turn signal. You will receive an advanced front lighting feature temporarily unavailable warning message and your turn signal indicator will fast flash in the instrument panel cluster if this occurs.

Inoperative lighting features may reduce your visibility and or make your vehicle less visible to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy

Parts are now available to repair your vehicle. Please confirm parts availability with your dealer when scheduling an appointment. Ford Motor Company has authorized your dealer to perform an inspection of the ldm module and replace if needed, free of charge.
