Description
The front driver side airbag inflator housing may rupture and deploy abnormally in the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the driver side frontal airbag.
Safety Risk
An inflator rupture could result in metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants resulting in serious injury or death.
Remedy
Do not drive your vehicle until your dealer replaces the front passenger side airbag inflator. Parts are now available to repair your vehicle. Ford Motor Company has authorized your dealer to replace the front driver side airbag inflator free of charge parts and labor. This is a permanent repair for your vehicle and must be performed even if you had an airbag inflator previously replaced as an interim repair.
