Description

On your vehicle, in the event of unexpected 12V battery discharge, the front door electronic latches retain their last lock unlock status. If the driver or front passenger exit the front doors using the mechanical inside release handles, the doors may remain locked when they are closed. This may result in an unexpected lock-out condition for the driver and front passenger without the ability to immediately re-enter the vehicle.

Safety Risk

An occupant who remains inside a locked vehicle and unable to use an inside door release handle may be unable to be rapidly retrieved by a passenger who has exited the vehicle. This could increase the risk of injury in emergencies or hot weather.

Remedy

Software is now available to repair your vehicle. Ford Motor Company has authorized your dealer to update the powertrain control module and the secondary on-board diagnostic control module c free of charge.

On your vehicle, one or both of the headlamp assemblies light emitting diode driver module ldm may fail, resulting in an inoperative high beam, low beam, daytime running lamp, and turn signal. You will receive an advanced front lighting feature temporarily unavailable warning message and your turn signal indicator will fast flash in the instrument panel cluster if this occurs.

Safety Risk

Inoperative lighting features may reduce your visibility and or make your vehicle less visible to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy

Parts are now available to repair your vehicle. Please confirm parts availability with your dealer when scheduling an appointment. Ford Motor Company has authorized your dealer to perform an inspection of the ldm module and replace if needed, free of charge.

On your vehicle, the integrated park module ipm may not properly engage the park pawl, preventing the vehicle from locking into park when park p is selected. If this condition occurs, a wrench light and shift system fault message will be displayed in the instrument panel cluster. Additionally, the vehicles electronic parking brake epb will automatically apply.

If the park pawl is not properly engaged and the electronic parking brake epb is not applied, your vehicle may experience a roll-in-park, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy

Software is now available to repair your vehicle. Ford Motor Company has released software for 25C71. Your vehicle is capable of Ford over-the-air ota software updates. When automatic updates are turned on standard from the factory, the software will be downloaded to your vehicle over a private wi-fi network or through your vehicles modem through the cellular network. The software installation will happen after the download. Refer to ford.com support for further information on your Ford software updates system. Should the software fail to load or install properly, Ford has authorized your dealer to install 25C71 software free of charge under the terms of this program.
