Description
On your vehicle, certain flexible brake line assemblies located between the master cylinder and the hydraulic control unit (hcu) may not have the specified anti-corrosion plating on some of the ferrules, which are coupling fittings that attach a rubber hose to metal tubes.
Safety Risk
A lack of anti-corrosion plating can lead to premature corrosion of the ferrules. This may result in brake fluid leakage, and reduced brake function, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Ford Motor Company has authorized your dealer to replace the flexible brake line assemblies located between the master cylinder and the hydraulic control unit (hcu) free of charge (parts and labor).
