Description
These vehicles were incorrectly built with a park-reverse-neutral drive manual prndm steering column rather than a reverse neutral drive manual rndm steering column. With the prndm steering column, the park pawl may experience a one-time overload fracture when parked on a grade that could result in unintended vehicle movement. Ford is not aware of any reports of accident or injury related to this condition.
Safety Risk
This condition may result in unintended vehicle movement, increasing the risk of injury.
Remedy
Ford Motor Company has authorized your dealer to replace the steering column and reprogram the vehicle free of charge parts and labor.
