Recall Information

Description

Your vehicle may display a blank instrument panel cluster ipc screen upon startup. This may occur when the vehicle is restarted within a specific time interval after turning the vehicle off.

Safety Risk

A blank ipc screen will prevent the driver from seeing critical vehicle information such as the speedometer, warning lights, and warning messages. The inability to see this information increases the risk of a crash.

Remedy

Software is available to repair your vehicle. Ford Motor Company has released a software update that is available ota as a remedy for this recall. Should the software fail to load or install properly after following the instructions below, or if you prefer to bring your vehicle to your dealer, Ford has authorized your dealer to install the update free of charge under the terms of this program.

On your vehicle, it may be possible for the shifter mechanism on your vehicle to detach while the vehicle is not in park. If the shifter mechanism detaches while the vehicle is not in park, you may be unable to engage park.

Safety Risk

If you are unable to engage park, the vehicle may roll if the parking brake is not manually applied, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy

Parts are now available to repair your vehicle. Ford Motor Company has authorized your dealer to inspect the steering column and replace the assembly if needed, free of charge.

On your vehicle, it may be possible that the engine was assembled using a cracked fuel return line connector.

Safety Risk

This may result in a fuel leak on the engine. Fuel contact on hot surfaces, such as when the engine is running, may lead to a fire.

Remedy

Parts are available to repair your vehicle. Ford Motor Company has authorized your dealer to replace the fuel injector return line on your vehicle free of charge.

On your vehicle, the infotainment screen may freeze followed by a black screen and a system reboot. If this occurs during a backing event, the rear-view image may be frozen, missing, or delayed.

Safety Risk

A frozen rear-view camera display image while in reverse can reduce the drivers view of what is behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy

Software is now available to repair your vehicle. Ford Motor Company has released software for 25S49. Your vehicle is capable of Ford software updates. When automatic updates are turned on standard from the factory, the software will be downloaded to your vehicle over a private wi-fi network or through your vehicles modem through the cellular network. Before the software is installed you will have to schedule a day and time when you will not need the vehicle for up to 8 hours while the installation is completed. Note refer to ford.comsupport for further information on your Ford software updates system. Should the software fail to load or install properly, Ford has authorized your dealer to install 25S49 software free of charge under the terms of this program.
