Description
On your vehicle, it may be possible for the shifter mechanism on your vehicle to detach while the vehicle is not in park. If the shifter mechanism detaches while the vehicle is not in park, you may be unable to engage park.
Safety Risk
If you are unable to engage park, the vehicle may roll if the parking brake is not manually applied, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Parts are now available to repair your vehicle. Ford Motor Company has authorized your dealer to inspect the steering column and replace the assembly if needed, free of charge.
