Ford Motor Company has authorized your dealer to inspect the seat backs and replace it if necessary free of charge - parts and labor.

On some of the affected vehicles, the driver and or front passenger seatbelt retractor pretensioners may deploy inadvertently while the vehicles engine is on. If you already had 24S06 performed on your vehicle, Ford Lincoln is looking to inspect your vehicle again for more pretensioner date codes that have been determined to be defective.

Inadvertent deployment of the retractor pretensioner will result in the seatbelt being locked in position and will not retract or extend, which is noticeable to the occupant. A seatbelt that does not retract or extend may result in injury in the event of a crash.

Parts are now available to repair your vehicle. Ford Motor Company Lincoln has authorized your dealer retailer to inspect and, if necessary, replace the front seat belt retractors free of charge parts and labor.

Remedy

Ford Motor Company has provided an addendum, with the owner notification letter, that includes an accurate description of all head restraints and describes how to adjust and remove the head restraints for certain center seating positions. Please place the head restraint owners manual addendum provided with this letter in your vehicles glovebox with the supplemental owners guide. You do not need to visit your dealer, but you have the option to take your vehicle to a Ford or Lincoln dealer for assistance with properly installing the mailed owners manual addendum into your vehicles glovebox, free of charge parts and labor.
