Description
On your vehicle, incorrect polyurethane material was used in the production of the instrument panel. This may lead to instrument panel substrate delamination, which could cause the passenger airbag to deploy incorrectly.
Safety Risk
In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the passenger airbag, the airbag may not deploy as intended, increasing the risk of injury. The instrument panel may also fragment during deployment and project fragments toward the occupant, increasing the risk of injury.
Remedy
Parts are now available to repair your vehicle. Please confirm parts availability with your dealer when scheduling an appointment. Ford Motor Company has authorized your dealer to replace the instrument panel free of charge.
