Description
On your vehicle, one or both of the side curtain airbag inflators have a diffuser that may detach during airbag deployment.
Safety Risk
If an inflator diffuser detaches during airbag deployment it may create a tear that could cause the side curtain airbag to not fully inflate. There is also potential for the diffuser to become a projectile in the passenger compartment. An inflator diffuser that detaches during airbag deployment may increase the risk of injury in a crash.
Remedy
Ford Motor Company has authorized your dealer to replace the affected side curtain airbags free of charge parts and labor.
