Description
In some of the affected vehicles, the original Motor electronics coolant mec pump may wear out and fail, resulting in a high temperature condition within the Motor electronics system. This would invoke a failure mode effects management fmem strategy that can result in a sudden partial or full loss of motive power in order to protect the vehicle powertrain. After a sufficient cool-down time, the vehicle will restart. Ford is not aware of any reports of accident or injury related to this condition.
Safety Risk
The vehicle may experience a sudden partial or full loss of motive power while driving caused by the fmem strategy during a high temperature condition within the electronics cooling system. If this occurs, the vehicle's braking and steering systems will continue to operate normally. However, this condition can result in a sudden stall-like condition while driving. An engine stall without warning while driving may increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Parts are now available to repair your vehicle. Whether your vehicle has been inspected and released pending parts availability to complete this recall or you have not yet contacted your dealer to schedule service for this recall, please contact your dealer without delay to schedule an appointment. Description
Our records indicate a Ford remanufactured transmission was installed in your vehicle. It may be possible that the shift control fastener on your transmission may not have been properly torqued.
Safety Risk

This can result in the loss of transmission gear selection, and possible unintended vehicle movement, increasing the risk of an injury or crash
Remedy
Ford Motor Company has authorized your dealer to torque the shift control lever bolt to the proper specification free of charge parts and labor.
