Home Power Management

Our Home Power Management System can optimize your charging schedule to help keep your costs down. We’ll show you how.

What is Home Power Management?

With Home Power Management, you can use your F-150 Lightning® truck as an energy storage system. Power your home when electricity costs are high and charge up the vehicle when electricity costs are lower to reduce reliance on the grid and help reduce your utility expenses.

How does Home Power Management work?

Many electricity providers follow “Time of Use” plans, meaning their electricity rates change throughout the day, every day. If you purchase electricity on a time-of-use plan from your utility company, Ford Home Power Management can help minimize your home energy bill by automatically avoiding high time-of-use electricity rates.

When electricity rates are higher, Home Power Management switches on and powers your home using energy from your F-150 Lightning truck. When electricity rates decrease to lower time-of-use rates, Home Power Management charges your F-150 Lightning back up to your desired charge level .
