How do I start or stop a charging session for my Ford electric vehicle?

Take the following steps.

1. Open the Ford app and tap Energy.
2. Select Find public charging.
3. Use the Search field to search for a charger or select nearby public chargers on the map.
4. Tap Charge here.
5. Select the kW dropdown arrow next to the power output you want to use. Chargers with different max power outputs are separated by kWs.
6. Match and select the charger's name or number to the one on the Ford app.
7. Tap Start charging.
8. Plug in your vehicle when indicated by the Ford app or the charger. Charging should begin shortly.
9. Press the charge port unlock button on your vehicle's charge port once you have reached the desired charge level.
   • The charge status indicator will change from blue to white when charging completes.
   • There will be an audible unlocking sound as the charge port unlocks.
     
     Note: If your vehicle continues to charge, or if the charge port does not unlock, press the vehicle unlock button on your key fob, Phone As A Key device (if equipped), or inside your vehicle. Then press the charge port unlock button again.
      
10. Unplug the charging cord.
