Which Ford vehicles are compatible with Apple CarPlay?
Apple CarPlay®* can be used in select 2016 and newer vehicles equipped with SYNC®** or Ford Digital Experience†.
It is available for:
- 2017 and newer vehicles equipped with Ford Digital Experience, SYNC 4A, SYNC 4, and SYNC 3.
- 2016 vehicles with SYNC 3 and software version 2.0 or greater. See the What SYNC software version do I have in my vehicle? article for help identifying your SYNC software version. Apple CarPlay will require a hardware update from a Ford Dealer to function.
Note: Apple CarPlay is unavailable on SYNC 3 (non-touchscreen) and any SYNC systems that do not have a touchscreen.
