Recall Reference Number: 24S24
Building vehicles you can count on is our most important job, which is why Ford has issued a safety recall for certain 2021–2024 model year Bronco Sport SUVs and 2022-2023 model year Maverick Trucks.
The current software for the Body Control Module and Powertrain Control Module is unable to detect — and thus compensate for — the decreasing performance in the life of a 12-volt battery. This could result in the vehicle unable to restart while using the Auto Start-Stop Technology or stalling while coming to a stop at low speeds. This is accompanied by a loss of 12-volt accessories like lights, radio, air conditioning etc.
To have the software recalibrated, please take your Bronco Sport SUV or Maverick truck to a Ford Dealership or Lincoln Retailer. To see if your vehicle is included, enter your VIN here.
You can book an appointment online, in your Ford app, or contact your local Ford Dealer. For your convenience, a mobile technician may be available to inspect and service your vehicle where you are.
For questions or concerns about this safety recall, please call us at 1-866-436-7332. A Ford Recall team member will be happy to assist you.
