25S76: Bronco Sport (2021-2024) and Escape (2020-2022) Cracked Fuel Injector and Underhood Fire Risk Recall

Building vehicles you can count on is one of our most important jobs, which is why Ford has issued a safety recall on certain 858,000 2021-2024 Bronco Sport® SUV and 2020-2022 Escape® SUV models.
This recall expands and replaces previous recalls and will include a new remedy for this concern, which is currently under development. As an interim remedy, dealers will update the engine control software, free of charge, which will help detect cracked injectors and mitigate the fire risk. Vehicles previously remedied under the prior recalls will need to have the new final remedy performed once it is available. Ford encourages customers who don’t already have the interim software update to contact their dealer to schedule an appointment. Complimentary pick-up and delivery may be provided at participating Ford Dealers/Lincoln Retailers. This is especially important as the safety risk here is that a fuel injector may crack and leak fuel inside the engine compartment. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source, such as hot engine or exhaust components, can increase the risk of a fire.
