How do I adjust the Ambient Lighting in my Ford?
Below are the directions for changing your Ambient Lighting settings. This feature allows you to personalize your vehicle interior. It turns on when the ignition and the headlamps are switched on, and, depending on your vehicle, illuminates:
- Cup holders.
- Door map pockets and release handles.
- Front and rear foot wells.
- Console storage.
- Passenger-side instrument panel light bars.
- Media bins.
Note: The Ambient Lighting for 2017 - 2019 Ford F-150 vehicles is limited to Ice Blue color only and the intensity cannot be adjusted.

Identifying Your Vehicle's SYNC Generation
There are two resources to help you identify your vehicle's SYNC generation:
- SYNC and Navigation Updates page, which allows you to enter your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) or Login with your Ford credentials, and select Check for update. Your current SYNC generation will appear on the right-hand side of the page.

Adjusting Your Vehicle's Ambient Lighting

To adjust the Ambient Lighting:
- Tap the Home icon on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
- Press Settings.
- Select Ambient Light.
- Select a color.
- Drag the selected color up or down.

To adjust the Ambient Lighting:
- Press Settings on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
- Tap Vehicle Settings.
- Press Ambient Light.
- Drag the slider left or right.

To adjust the Ambient Lighting:
- Tap Settings on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
- Tap Ambient Lighting.
- Select your desired color.
- Select your preferred intensity.
SYNC with MyFord Touch
To adjust the Ambient Lighting:
- Select Menu (gear icon) on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
- Tap Vehicle.
- Tap Ambient Lighting. A screen with colored bubbles will appear.
- Tap your desired color.
- Slide the bar at the top of the screen to the left or right to adjust the brightness.
Manual Controls
The Ambient Lighting control is located in the overhead console. To turn it on:
- Turn the center control knob until you feel a slight indent.
- Once the lights come on, twist it in either direction to adjust the brightness.
- Press the Color button (painter's palette) to scroll through your color choices.
Note: Instructions may vary depending on your vehicle's year and model. For specific information, refer to your Owner's Manual under "Lighting."
