How do I connect a Bluetooth®* device to a vehicle without SYNC®**?
Pairing Instructions
Note: The only vehicles capable of connecting to Bluetooth that do not have a SYNC system are listed in this article.
Select your vehicle from the drop-downs below:
2022 Model Year (MY) and Newer Maverick
- Enable Bluetooth on your device.
- Press Settings on the Feature bar on the vehicle's touchscreen.
- Tap Bluetooth.
- Slide the Bluetooth toggle to On.
- Touch Add a Bluetooth Device. You will be prompted to search for your vehicle on your Bluetooth device.
- Select the vehicle on the device. A number will appear on your device and on your vehicle's touchscreen.
- Confirm the number on the device matches the one on your touchscreen. The touchscreen will display you have successfully paired your device.
2015 MY and Newer Transit
- Enable Bluetooth on your device.
- Press Settings on the Feature bar on your vehicle's touchscreen.
- Tap Bluetooth.
- Slide the Bluetooth toggle to On.
- Touch Add a Bluetooth Device. You will be prompted to search for the vehicle on your Bluetooth device.
- Select your vehicle on the device. A number will appear on your device and on your vehicle's touchscreen.
- Confirm the number on the device matches the one on the touchscreen. The touchscreen will display you have successfully paired your device.
2019 MY and Newer Ranger
- Enable Bluetooth on your device.
- Press the PHONE button on the vehicle's touchscreen.
- Select BT Devices.
- Follow the prompts on the screen to connect your device. The touchscreen will display you have successfully paired your device.

**Don’t drive while distracted or while using handheld devices. Use voice-operated systems when possible. Some features may be locked out while the vehicle is in gear. Not all features are compatible with all phones.
