What do I do if my all-electric Ford vehicle is not powering my home during my Home Power Management schedule?

Use the guide below if you are having issues getting your all-electric Ford vehicle to power your home during your Home Power Management schedule.

Home Power Management Issues

Select the problem you are experiencing below to help resolve your Home Power Management issue:

My vehicle is not providing power for my full Home Power Management schedule.

If your vehicle is not providing power for the full Home Power Management schedule, confirm if the following applies to your home and vehicle:

  • Your vehicle's range reserve has been reached.
    • Your vehicle will not provide discharge below your range reserve.
    • This ensures your vehicle will have enough power when you need to drive it.
  • Your home uses a large amount of electricity.
    • Your vehicle may have already reached its weekly limit of 50 kilowatt/hours (kWh).
    • The weekly limit is set to protect your EV's battery health.

If the above situations do not apply to you, take the following steps:

  1. Fully charge your vehicle to your normal preset target charge level. You do not need to adjust it.
  2. Unplug your vehicle once fully charged and wait 10 seconds.
  3. Plug it back in and resume your Home Power Management schedule.

If you continue to have issues, contact support at myenergy@ford.com.

My vehicle is not powering my home at all during my Home Power Management schedule.

If your vehicle is not discharging at all during your Home Power Management schedule, follow these steps:

  1. Move your vehicle as close to your charging station as possible. This ensures they can communicate over their Bluetooth connection.
  2. Go to energy.ford.com.
  3. Tap Login.
  4. Enter your Ford account credentials and log in.
  5. Tap Next 24 Hrs.
  6. Confirm that your vehicle is scheduled to perform Home Power Management activities, such as:
    • Powering Home
    • Charging

If you do not see any scheduled activities, you may need to set up your Home Power Management schedule again.

If you see activities but Home Power Management is not powering your home, reach out to support at myenergy@ford.com.
