Will the F-150 Lightning Pro receive Software Updates?

Yes. It will have Software Updates for the SYNC®* 4A and SYNC 4 systems.

Can any Ford Dealer service the F-150 Lightning Pro?

The F-150 Lightning Pro can be serviced at over 600 Ford Electric Vehicle (EV)-certified Commercial Vehicle Centers, along with the over 2,300 Ford EV-certified dealerships that would also be ready to provide parts and service as needed.

What steps has Ford taken to keep my data safe in a connected vehicle?

We have packed the F-150 Lightning Pro with available smart technologies that you can access through mobile apps, web applications, or the in-vehicle 12-inch touchscreen. In addition, Software Updates help you keep up with the latest technologies, get easy-to-access vehicle information, or find ways to maximize productivity. And you can rest assured that at Ford, we take data security very seriously. We have an independent team that assesses Ford against recognized cybersecurity frameworks and addresses threats as they arise, which means we’ve got solutions to help you stay securely connected on the go and on the job.

How much lower are the scheduled maintenance (ownership) costs of the F-150 Lightning?

The F-150 Lightning is expected to offer a lower total cost of ownership among F-Series trucks with a 40% savings in scheduled maintenance versus a gas-powered F-150 over an eight-year/100,000-mile period and overall fuel costs will also be lower on average.**

How many motors does the F-150 Lightning have?

The F-150 Lightning features dual electric motors targeted to have more torque than any F-150 available today and the ability to haul up to 2000 lbsand tow up to 10,000 lbs.††

What charging options are available with the F-150 Lightning?

The Mobile Power Cord comes with F-150 Lightning and is capable of 30-Amp (A) charging on a 240-Volt (V) NEMA 14-50 outlet and 12A charging on a 120V outlet. The F-150 Lightning with the extended-range battery and included 80A Ford Charge Station Pro (which requires professional installation) provides the fastest home charge, connected features, and available Ford Home Backup Power. The 80A Ford Charge Station Pro is also available with a standard-range battery.

What charge level does Ford recommend for daily driving?

Ford recommends that you charge to 90% for everyday driving and charge to 100% when you need the full range for a trip. Charging to 90% helps keep the battery healthy.  

What is the power of the onboard chargers?

The standard-range onboard charger input is 11.3 kilowatt (kW), and the extended-range dual onboard charger is 19.2kW. Vehicle onboard chargers limit the amount of power a vehicle can accept during charge events. Consider your onboard charger capability with the power capability of your charge equipment as well as the spare power of your home energy circuit when deciding which is the right home charging solution for you. Where is the Lightning being built?

At the Rouge complex in an all-new facility built specifically for the F-150 Lightning. Proudly assembled in the United States.‡‡

How fast can the F-150 Lightning charge?

Using a 150 kW+ direct current fast charger (DCFC), the standard-range 98 kWh pack can DCFC from 15-80% in about 36 minutes. The extended-range 131kWh pack can DCFC from 15-80% in 41 minutes.a

What body parts are the same as the gas-powered F-150?

The F-150 Lightning shares a number of body panels with the internal combustion engine and the F-150 PowerBoost Hybrid, which include the doors and bed interior. These commonalities enable the transfer of your accessories and upfits between the two trucks. 

How do you know the range is accurate when towing and hauling?

The F-150 Lightning comes equipped with Intelligent Range that helps calculate range based on past driver behavior weather conditions, speed, terrain, and even towing and payload (with available onboard scales), taking advantage of the cloud to predict how much energy will be used in future driving. If the range is impacted notably by any number of factors at the start of a trip, drivers will receive a notification in their vehicle cluster highlighting the new range estimate and details about why the estimate changed.

Is there a way to ‘de-tune’ the F-150 Lighting Pro to mitigate vehicle abuse and increase safety?

No, there is not.

Is there a way to load my company’s welcome message on the 12-inch SYNC 4 touchscreen?

No.

When will Near Field Communications (NFC) cards be available to open/start the F-150 Pro?

The F-150 Lighting Pro does not use NFC technology.

Can I remove the bed of my F-150 Lightning Pro?

No.

How expensive will it be to replace the battery once it wears out?

The arrays of the battery are serviceable, so that will reduce service costs. In addition, the battery is warranted for eight years/100,000 miles and 70% degradation.

Is there a way to tap into the power to run accessories, such as strobe lights?

The F-150 Lightning has power outlets in the cab, bed, and frunk but does not have auxiliary switches to tap into.
