How often should I change the engine oil in my Ford vehicle?
Change your oil and filter regularly. Vehicles with the Intelligent Oil-Life Monitor® alert you when a change is due and you can find the info in your Ford app, too. You can also check your Owner’s Manual or the Online Scheduled Maintenance tool for your vehicle’s routine maintenance schedule.
How do I schedule maintenance or service for my vehicle?
Schedule service through your local Ford Dealer online, in the Ford app, or by calling your dealer directly. Refer to your vehicle's Owner's Manual and Maintenance Schedule for vehicle-specific information. Ford Mobile Service and Ford Pickup & Delivery * are convenient and complimentary ways to service your vehicle without having to leave home.
Where can I find my vehicle's oil life in the Ford app?
Add your vehicle to the Ford app and activate the modem. Oil life appears on the Service screen with remaining percentage and may show estimated distance if oil life is less than 100%.
What do the Oil Life Service Reminder notifications indicate?
Time to Plan: If service is estimated within 30 days, the estimated due date and distance remaining will be displayed.
Change Engine Oil Soon: Remaining oil life is at 5%.
Change Engine Oil Now: Remaining oil life is at 0%.
Past Due: Oil life is at 0% for 14 days or is driven more than 500 miles/800 kilometers.
Is there a driving distance requirement to receive oil life estimates?
Yes. Your vehicle must complete 150 trips to detect a pattern and establish valid estimates. Unpredictable patterns may delay readings.
Is there a reason Oil Life Service Reminders or Estimates would not be available?
Reminders may not appear if the vehicle is offline, new, not driven for three days or more, or driving patterns vary. Estimates appear once a pattern is established.
What engine oil is recommended for my Ford vehicle?
Use Motorcraft® motor oil to optimize your engine performance. Check your Owner’s Manual for the correct type, filter, and quantity. You can also shop Motorcraft parts by entering your vehicle info.
Can I take my Ford vehicle to someone other than a Ford Dealer for an oil change?
Yes, but Ford recommends service with Ford Dealers, Ford Mobile Service, or Ford Pickup & Delivery. * They use factory-trained technicians and genuine parts.
