Tires wear over time based on driving habits, road conditions, and climate. Have your tires inspected at regular maintenance visits or sooner if you notice excessive tread wear, visible damage, frequent pressure loss, or changes in handling or traction. Check your Owner’s Manual for inspection and replacement guidance.

Tires should be rotated at every maintenance visit or as recommended in your Owner’s Manual. Tire rotations help ensure your tires wear evenly, extending their life and the time between new tire purchases.


The TPMS activates a warning light if it detects a significant underinflation in any of the tires, excluding the spare. When the low tire pressure indicator illuminates, you should stop and check your tires as soon as possible, and inflate them to the Ford recommended tire pressure.


Important: The Tire Pressure Monitoring System is not a substitute for manually checking tire pressure. You should periodically check tire pressure using a pressure gauge. Refer to your Owner's Manual for more information.

You can check tire pressure using your vehicle’s center display or the Ford app, if equipped. Tire pressure can also be checked manually using a digital or standard tire pressure gauge placed firmly on the tire valve stem.

You should check your tire pressure at least once a month and whenever there is a significant change in temperature. Always inflate tires to the recommended PSI listed on the driver’s side doorjamb, and check pressure when tires are cold for the most accurate reading.

Your Ford Dealer has Ford factory-trained technicians who are ready to help check and diagnose your tire pressure issues.

Tires defective in workmanship or material will be replaced during the new-vehicle limited warranty with 100% coverage of labor and a pro rata adjustment of parts coverage according to the following mileage-based reimbursement schedule for both gas-powered and electric vehicles.

  • 1–12,000 miles driven – 100% of parts covered by Ford
  • 12,001–24,000 miles driven – 60% of parts covered by Ford
  • 24,001–36,000 miles driven – 30% of parts covered by Ford


Your vehicle must be within three years of the warranty start date. Your dealer is in the best position to determine if your tire replacement is covered by a warranty. Contact your Ford Dealer to schedule service.


Note: A copy of your tire warranty is provided in the glove box at the time of purchase and is also available in the Owner’s Manual section of the Ford Support website. The tire manufacturer may also provide you with a separate tire warranty that extends beyond the new-vehicle limited warranty coverage.
