How do I set favorite locations with SYNC®*?

To set your home and other favorite locations with SYNC, first, identify your SYNC version and follow the steps in the appropriate dropdown below.

Identifying Your Ford's SYNC Generation

Below are two resources to help you identify your vehicle's SYNC generation:

  • SYNC and Navigation Updates page allows you to enter your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) or log in with your Ford credentials, and select Check for update. Your current SYNC generation will appear on the right-hand side of the page.
  • SYNC Visual Reference Guide has example images of each generation of SYNC Ford has offered.

Setting a Favorite Location with SYNC

Important: Make sure your vehicle is in Park and in a well-ventilated area. You will be unable to set a location while you are vehicle is in motion.

SYNC 4A

To save a favorite location with SYNC 4A:

  1. Access the Home menu on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
  2. Press the Navigation button (navigational arrow icon).
  3. Tap on magnifying glass icon (magnifying glass icon).
  4. Input a partial destination.
  5. Press the Address.
  6. Tap the Star button.
  7. Input the name of the destination.
  8. Touch Enter.
  9. Tap Save.

The system will save the location to your list of favorites.

SYNC 4

To save a favorite location with SYNC 4:

  1. Access the Home menu on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
  2. Press the map image.
  3. Tap on magnifying glass icon (magnifying glass).
  4. Input a partial destination.
  5. Touch the magnifying glass icon (magnifying glass).
  6. Press Address.
  7. Tap the Star button.
  8. Input the name of the destination.
  9. Touch Enter.
  10. Tap Save.

The system will save the location to your list of favorites

SYNC 3

To save a favorite location with SYNC 3:

  1. Select NAV at the bottom of the screen to access the main navigation screen.
  2. Touch Controls.
  3. Press Destination.
  4. Press Favorites.
  5. Select Add a Favorite.
  6. Enter an address.
  7. Press Save.

The system will save the location to your list of favorites

SYNC® with MyFord Touch®

To save a favorite location with SYNC with MyFord Touch:

  1. Press the map image.
  2. Tap Dest. (Destination).
  3. Choose a way to find your destination (Street Address, Previous Destinations, or Point of Interest).
  4. Press Save to Favorites when the address has been selected.

The system will save the location to your list of favorites

*Don’t drive while distracted. Use voice-operated systems when possible; don’t use handheld devices while driving. Some features may be locked out while the vehicle is in gear. Not all features are compatible with all phones.
