Monthly maintenance checklist

Every month, it’s recommended that you check the following:

• Function of all interior and exterior lights
• Wear and tear on tires
• Engine oil fluid level
• Windshield washer fluid level

Maintenance basics

In addition to the monthly checks listed above, there are a number of steps you can take to help preserve your vehicle’s condition.

• Change your oil. An oil and filter change is one of the most important types of maintenance – and the one your vehicle needs most frequently. Ford Motor Company generally recommends getting an oil change every 7,500 miles or every six months for 2008 and new model year vehicles. Consult your Owner’s Manual for more details.
• Rotate your tires. Have your tires rotated every time you get your oil changed. This helps distribute wear evenly.
• Have your tires balanced and wheels aligned. If you notice that your vehicle pulls to one side while you’re driving, it may be a sign that you need an alignment.
• Drive smart. Avoid aggressive driving, which can damage your vehicle.
