Why am I unable to add my Vehicle Identification Number to the Ford app?

If you are unable to add your Ford vehicle to the Ford app, try scanning your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) barcode or QR code directly by completing the following steps. 

1. Log in to the Ford app.
2. Tap the + Add Vehicle button.
3. Select Scan code.
4. Hover your device over the VIN barcode on your driver's side door panel or your QR code on the vehicle's touchscreen display. 
   
   Notes:
   • If you need assistance locating your VIN barcode or QR code, select Find your VIN or Find your QR code.
   • If you prefer to enter your VIN manually, select Enter VIN manually and enter all 17 characters. VINs do not include the letters "I", "O", and "Q" to avoid confusion with the numbers 1 and 0.

The screen should display an "Adding vehicle" message. 

If you are still experiencing concerns, contact Ford app support through the Ford app by selecting Account > Help.
