When might grid events occur?

Grid events for the program will occur between May 1 and Oct. 31. The program will only modify your vehicle’s charging within that time period.

Grid events can occur any day of the week between 4 p.m and 9 p.m. and will typically last 1-3 hours. There will be a minimum of 30 grid event hours throughout the season.

What participation incentive will Ford electric vehicle owners receive?

By participating in grid events, you will be paid $1 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) of energy reduced during the event timing, measured relative to how much energy you typically use on other days preceding the event during hours similar to the event hours.

To receive the incentive, you must:

  • Reduce your home’s overall energy consumption while participating in at least three grid events through October 31, 2025. Ford will pause charging during grid events to help reduce your home’s energy consumption.
  • Plug in and charge your vehicle at least three times per week at your enrolled home location.

Your incentive will be distributed from ClimateResponse® VPP no later than the second quarter after the prior grid event season has concluded on October 31, 2025.

If you have further questions about the incentive, refer to the ClimateResponse VPP Terms and Conditions or contact ClimateResponse® VPP at ask@climateresponse.com.
