Description
On your vehicle, the engine block heater may develop a coolant leak which could cause a short circuit while the engine block heater system is plugged in.
Safety Risk
A short circuit in the engine block heater increases the risk of an underhood fire.
Remedy
Ford has authorized your dealer to perform one of the two following remedies. The first is wait for the new heater, which will be available February 15, 2027, as parts are not available now. Ford Motor Company is working to provide parts for this repair. When the remedy becomes available, Ford Motor Company will notify you via mail to schedule a service appointment with your dealer for repairs to be completed free of charge. Disable the heater now is the second available option. For those customers that choose this option, Ford Motor Company has authorized your dealer to remove the block heater element and power cable and install a threaded plug free of charge.
