Description
It is possible that your vehicles brake pedal may not fully return to the rest position after being depressed. As a result, the stop lamps may remain illuminated when the brakes are not in use.
Safety Risk
Stop lamps that illuminate when the brakes are not in use can increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Parts are available to repair your vehicle. Ford Motor Company has authorized your dealer to inspect the brake pedal for a full return by using the Ford diagnostic repair system fdrs scan tool and a manual review. If the brake pedal does not make a full return, the dealer will manipulate the system as described in the technical instructions. This service will be performed free of charge.
