Why are third-party apps blocked from using my FordPass®* login information?

Using third-party apps with your FordPass credentials increases account security risks and may cause additional load on your vehicle's electrical system, modem, and battery. This additional load may cause vehicle reliability and battery drain concerns.

You may have used your FordPass username and password with third-party apps or websites, such as personal car rental, car insurance, or power company apps, to share vehicle data from the vehicle modem.

As of May 7, 2024, Ford has blocked third-party apps from using FordPass credentials. This does not impact your direct access to the FordPass App or ford.com.

Note: You will receive a message similar to the image below if you attempt to use your FordPass login information on a third-party app or website.
