Description
The left-hand rear door may be opened from the inside of the vehicle when the child safety lock is in the on position. The proper function of the child safety lock prevents the opening of the rear door from inside the vehicle with the child safety lock on.
Safety Risk
If the left-hand child safety lock is not functioning correctly, the left-hand rear door may be opened from the inside of the vehicle, despite the indication of the child safety lock in the on position, increasing the risk of injury to an unrestrained second-row occupant.
Remedy
Parts are now available to repair your vehicle. Ford Motor Company has authorized your dealer to perform an inspection of the rear door child safety locks and to replace the door latch, if necessary, free of charge parts and labor.
