Description
Your vehicle may have an improperly welded rear driveshaft, which can result in driveshaft separation. At the time of failure, you might hear a loud popping noise, or observe a range of significant noise, vibration, and harshness nvh symptoms.
Safety Risk
A rear driveshaft separation may result in a loss of motive power while driving, which increases the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Parts are available to repair your vehicle. Following an initial inspection, your dealer will coordinate ordering the parts needed to complete your repair. Ford Motor Company has authorized your dealer to inspect and if necessary, replace the rear driveshaft free of charge.
