Description

On your vehicle, the rear view camera could display a blank or distorted image on the center display screen when the vehicle is in reverse. You may also receive a message that the rear view camera is unavailable on the center display screen.

Safety Risk

A rear view camera that displays a blank or distorted image while in reverse can reduce or distort the drivers view of what is behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy

Parts are now available to repair your vehicle, if needed. Ford Motor Company has authorized your dealer to inspect the rear view camera operation and replace the camera if necessary, free of charge.

When starting the vehicle, a hardware software incompatibility issue may cause customers to experience an inoperative instrument cluster, blank multiple functional display mfd, and nonfunctional warning chimes, messages and warning lights. Specific warning chimes, messages and warning lights are required at vehicle startup as specified in section 5.3.1 of fmvss 101 and other applicable fmvss requirements.ford is not aware of any reports of any accident or injury related to this condition.

On your vehicle, it may be possible the transmission shifter cable bushing is damaged or missing.

Safety Risk

A damaged or missing bushing could prevent the shifter from moving the transmission into the intended gear position and cause the vehicle to move in an unexpected direction. The transmission may not be in the park position, even though the shifter position indicates that the vehicle was shifted to park. Exiting a vehicle without the transmission in the park position and without the application of the parking brake may allow the vehicle to roll, increasing the risk of injury or crash.

Remedy

Parts are now available to repair your vehicle. Ford Motor Company has authorized your dealer to replace the shifter cable bushing and protective cap free of charge parts and labor.

A short circuit in the engine block heater increases the risk of an underhood fire. To reduce the risk of an underhood fire, refrain from plugging in your engine block heater system until remedy parts are available and repair is completed.

Remedy

Ford has authorized your dealer to perform one of the two following remedies parts are not available. Ford Motor Company is working to provide parts for this repair. When the remedy becomes available, Ford Motor Company will notify you via mail to schedule a service appointment with your dealer for repairs to be completed free of charge. The remedy is anticipated to be available by the third quarter of 2026. An alternative remedy is available for owners who would like to disable the vehicles block heater. For those customers that choose this option, Ford Motor Company has authorized your dealer to remove the block heater element and power cable and install a threaded plug free of charge. If the block heater element is removed under this alternate remedy, the dealer will store the power cable in the vehicles trunk compartment, and your vehicle will be automatically added to customer satisfaction program 26B01. Once parts to support the block heater remedy become available, Ford will authorize your dealer to install the block heater element free of charge.
