2019 Transit Connect Commercial

Choosing the Transit Connect Cargo Van is a smart move from the get-go. Its dimensions, impressive maneuverability and big capacities are perfect for the business plan that doesn’t require the size and cost of a full-size cargo van or passenger wagon. Now factor in the intelligent options available like the latest driver-assist and safety features plus wireless charging and FordPass, EcoCoach and side-wind stabilization — and your decision to go with the Transit Connect Cargo Van becomes just that much smarter.

Looking through the windshield at pedestrian traffic

If the system’s sensors detect a potential collision with a car or pedestrian in front of you, a warning flashes in the instrument cluster and an audible alert sounds. Also, the brakes will precharge and increase brake-assist sensitivity to provide full responsiveness when you do brake. If you do not take corrective action and collision is imminent, brakes can apply automatically. Smart features like pre-collision assist with pedestrian detection can help maintain uptime so that you can keep your business out on the road and taking care of your clients.
*Driver-assist features are supplemental and do not replace the driver’s attention, judgment and need to control the vehicle. While Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking may be especially helpful in unexpected situations, it does not replace the driver and has limitations, including nighttime, low and harsh lighting conditions, vehicles moving in a different direction and certain weather conditions.

During any workday, several employees could be driving your Transit Connect Cargo Van. That, in turn, means different levels of driving expertise. With that on mind, a wide range of technologies have been developed to help keep them all confident behind the wheel. These features include the available BLIS (Blind Spot Information System) with cross-traffic alert, Lane-Keeping System and forward collision warning with brake support.

For compatible devices, an available wireless inductive phone charger* lets you charge your phone by just setting it down. This means no more struggling with ports, plugs or charging cables.
*Some mobile devices require a special adaptable sleeve for compatibility. See your owner’s manual for a complete list of compatible devices.

Standard side wind stabilization system

Standard side-wind stabilization technology39  is designed to help reduce driver stress during freeway driving in high winds. The feature monitors sensors and, if a strong wind gust is detected, it carefully applies the brakes on one side to help the driver stay in the lane. It works alongside Roll Stability Control™ on slippery surfaces – to help avoid skids, lateral slides and potential vehicle rollovers.
