Tire Replacement
Depending on your climate, storage conditions or level of use, your tires can start to look…tired. Ford recommends you replace your tires every six years, regardless of how often you drive or how worn your tires get. Hot climates or frequent heavy loads may require more frequent changing and alignment. Follow the tips below when the time comes.
Tire Care
- Check your tires once per month before driving your vehicle. The safety certification label with this information can be found on either the driver’s side door hinge pillar, the door latch post or where the door edge meets the door latch post.
- Rotate tires at the recommended intervals indicated in your owner’s manual to help them wear more evenly.
- After rotating, check the inflation pressure and adjust the alignment if needed.
- Your tire alignment schedule can be found in your owner’s manual or maintenance guide, and you’ll also want to align them whenever you buy and install new tires. This helps ensure your vehicle drives straight, handles smoothly and your tires wear evenly.
Tire Replacement
- Only use replacement tires that are the same size, load index and speed the vehicle was originally equipped with at purchase.
- Replace all tires when they are worn. If you choose to replace two tires at a time, replace your tires per axle and add the newest tires to the rear axle.
- Replace the spare tire when replacing the road tires or after six years (even if it has not been used).
