**How do I get the latest map updates for my SYNC^®*system?**

The steps to ensure your SYNC map has the most recent update are below.

Keeping your SYNC maps updated improves accuracy and helps you find more efficient routes, saving time and money.

Identifying Your Vehicle's SYNC Generation

There are two resources to help you identify your vehicle's SYNC generation:

SYNC and Navigation Updates page, which allows you to enter your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) or Login with your Ford credentials, and select Check for update. Your current SYNC generation will appear on the right-hand side of the page.
SYNC Visual Reference Guide, which has example images of each generation of SYNC Ford has offered.

SYNC Map Update Instructions

Before updating the map, make sure your SYNC system is up-to-date.

Select your SYNC generation from the list below to learn how to update your SYNC map:

SYNC 4A

You will receive map updates through Ford Power-Up software updates automatically during your free trial and subscribed service periods.

Full map updates occur once per year. Updates for the radius you drive most often occur quarterly.

You can extend your subscription at ford.com/connectedservices.

SYNC 3

Visit the SYNC and Navigation update page.
Enter your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and select Check for Update.
Select the drop-down under Navigation Updates and follow the instructions.

Note: If your SYNC Navigation is up-to-date, you will see a green checkmark and a message stating that an update is not available.

SYNC with Voice-Activated Navigation

Visit the Ford Navigation website.
Select your vehicle model and year from the drop-down menu.
The appropriate update will appear.
