How do I troubleshoot USB-installed SYNC software update issues?
If you encounter an error while installing a SYNC®* software update from a USB drive, depending on the error you see, the fix might mean reformatting your USB drive, re-downloading the files, or resetting your SYNC system.
Before trying any of the recommendations below:
- Ensure that the USB drive is formatted correctly to:
- exFAT for SYNC 3.
- FAT32 for previous versions of SYNC.
- Confirm that you correctly followed the steps to extract the file to the USB drive.
- Try deleting the downloaded files and downloading the update again.
Note: SYNC 4A and SYNC 4 are updated with Wi-Fi® software updates and do not use a USB drive.
