How do I lock and unlock my Ford vehicle remotely? 

You can use the FordPass®* App, your Apple® Watch, or your key fob to remotely lock and unlock your vehicle. See the instructions below for more details. 

Important: 

  • FordPass Remote Commands are not substitutes for having your key fob on hand. You should not leave your key fob at home or inside your vehicle.
  • Your vehicle still requires the presence of a key to put it in drive (D).

Remote lock/unlock is not a standard feature for all vehicles. The following conditions must be met:

Using FordPass

  1. Open the FordPass App.
  2. Go to the Vehicle screen. 
  3. Tap the Lock or Unlock icon. 

The request will load, your vehicle status will change, and a green check mark will appear on the icon you selected. 

If you experience any issues, contact a Guide using the Account > Contact Help options in FordPass.

Note: FordPass Guides do not have access to your remote commands. They are unable to unlock, lock, or control your vehicle.

Using Your Apple Watch 

  1. Open FordPass on your watch screen.
  2. Select your vehicle. 
  3. Scroll down to the second screen.
  4. Press the Lock or Unlock icon.

Once the command is successful, a green check will replace the icon.

Note: FordPass Guides do not have access to your remote commands. They are unable to unlock, lock, or control your vehicle.

Using Your Key Fob

Select the lock or unlock button on your key fob.
