Why am I getting a "No Key Detected Message" in my Ford?
A valid key must be located inside your vehicle to switch the ignition on and start the engine.
The keyless starting system may not function if the key is close to metal objects or electronic devices such as cellular phones, or if the key battery has no charge. If you are unable to start your vehicle, do the following:
- Place the key in the backup slot. The location of the backup slot varies. It can be found in the console storage compartment, cup holder, or other location depending on your vehicle.
- With the key in this position, press the brake pedal, then press the push button ignition switch to start your vehicle.
If you are still unable to start the vehicle, contact your Ford Dealer for assistance.
