How do I set up vehicle health alerts?

To access the FordPass Vehicle Health and Alerts feature:

  • All devices must have mobile data turned on.
  • Android version 8.0 or greater.
  • iPhone with iOS version 13.0 or greater.
  • You must have a vehicle added to the app.
  • Your vehicle must be properly equipped with the SYNC/FordPass Connect™ (TCU vehicle) or SYNC® 3 with AppLink technology (non-TCU vehicle). 

For vehicles equipped with the FordPass Connect modem:

  1. Navigate to the Home landing page. 
  2. Select your respective vehicle.
  3. Ensure that your modem has been activated.
  4. Start your vehicle. 
  5. Any VHA notifications will be sent 1 minute after your vehicle is started.
  6. Alerts will appear as a banner above your vehicle after it's selected from the Home tab.
  7. Tap the banner to access the Alert Detail screen, which will give you more details and solution guidance. 

For vehicles equipped with SYNC 3 AppLink technology:

  1. Navigate to the Home landing page. 
  2. Select your respective vehicle.
  3. Ensure that your AppLink connection is successful.
  4. Once your connection is made and your vehicle is in motion, SYNC 3 will collect diagnostic data as it monitors your vehicle's systems. 
  5. Any detected alerts will be sent to your Message Center and shown as an alert banner above your vehicle after it's selected from the Home tab.

Note: If you've been logged out of the app, you will be required to log back in to the app and start your vehicle for 1 minute to receive the health and alerts.
