FAQ

When you purchase or lease a new Ford electric vehicle, Ford has your back. With the Ford Power Promise, you are eligible for a complimentary Ford Charge Station Pro and complimentary standard installation from Qmerit. *

Here’s how to install a Level 1 or Level 2 EV charger at home:

1. Take Advantage of the Ford Power Promise: When you purchase or lease a new Ford electric vehicle, get a complimentary Ford Charge Station Pro and complimentary standard installation from Qmerit. * Qmerit has a simple, online process to assess your home’s capacity for installation. If you haven’t yet obtained your vehicle, you can still work with Qmerit to get a quote.

2. Check for Other Rebates or Incentives: Depending on where you live, there may be benefits to help reduce the overall cost.

3. Choose Your Charger:

  • Ford Mobile Power Cord (Level 1): This charger is compatible with 120V outlets. The 120V option plugs into a standard outlet and may not require any additional steps or special installation if your outlet is already in a convenient location.
  • Available Ford Mobile Power Cord (Level 2): This charger is also compatible with a 240V outlet, like the outlet used by an electric stove. The 240V option may require assistance from a licensed professional.
  • Available Ford Connected Charge Station or Available Ford Charge Station Pro (Level 2): These options require professional installation.

4. Select the Installation Location: Choose a spot near where you park, like the garage or on an exterior wall. Make sure the charging cable can easily reach your vehicle.

5. Hire a Licensed Electrician: They can assess your electrical panel, install a 240V outlet, or hardwire your charger. They can also help secure permits and schedule inspections if needed. If you’re taking advantage of the Ford Power Promise, contact Qmerit for complimentary installation. *

With the Ford Power Promise, you are eligible for a complimentary Ford Charge Station Pro when you purchase or lease a Ford electric vehicle. *

Without the Ford Power Promise, the Ford Mobile Charger costs $520 when purchased alone or $600 as a bundle with the Fast Charging Adapter. The available Ford Connected Charge Station is $799 and the available Ford Charge Station Pro is $1,310.

The cost depends on several factors, including electrician rates in your area, permit and inspection requirements in your city, and your home’s unique needs like your home’s electrical capacity, the location or placement of your charger, and if your garage is attached or detached. We recommend you get a quote from a licensed professional or reach out to our partners at Qmerit to learn more.

Many properties will already have chargers installed. If not, Ford has you covered with the BlueOval® Charge Network, North America’s largest integrated public charging network. It simplifies public charging by allowing you to activate and pay for sessions across multiple networks with a single app. 174
