How do I find the password for my Ford's Wi-Fi Hotspot*?
You can use your SYNC®** touchscreen or the radio (vehicles not equipped with SYNC) to view the password for your Wi-Fi hotspot.
Viewing the Wi-Fi Hotspot Password
Select your SYNC generation (gen) from the drop-down options below to learn how to find your Wi-Fi hotspot password.
Identifying Your Vehicle's SYNC Gen
Two resources to help you identify your vehicle's SYNC gen are the:
- SYNC and Navigation Updates page. Either:
- Enter your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and select Check for update.
Log in with your Ford credentials, choose a vehicle from your garage, and select Check for updates.
Note: Your SYNC gen will appear on the right-hand side of the page.

SYNC 4A and SYNC 4
To see your Wi-Fi hotspot password with SYNC 4 or 4A
- Select Settings on the Feature bar.
- Tap Vehicle Hotspot.
- Choose Settings.
- Press View Password.
Note: The network name is the Wi-Fi hotspot name.
SYNC 3
To see your Wi-Fi hotspot password with SYNC 3:
- Select Settings on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
- Swipe left and tap Wi-Fi & Hotspot.
- Tap Vehicle Hotspot.
- Choose View Password.
No SYNC System in Vehicle
If your window sticker indicates you have a Wi-Fi hotspot and do not have SYNC, you can access the Wi-Fi hotspot password through your radio.
To find your Wi-Fi hotspot password using the steering wheel controls:
- Select Settings on the radio.
- Select Connectivity Features.
- Select Wireless Hotspot. The password will appear in the menu.

*Wi‑Fi hotspot includes wireless data trial that begins upon AT&T activation and expires at the end of 3 months or when 3 GB of data is used, whichever comes first, but cannot extend beyond the complimentary subscription period for remote features. To activate, go to www.att.com/ford.
