Recall Reference Number: 23S56
The safety of everyone in your vehicle is something we take seriously. That is why we are issuing a safety recall for some 2021–2022 model-year Mustang Mach-E® extended-range and GT models built between May 27, 2020, and May 24, 2022.
A key component of the vehicle’s battery system may not be able to stand up to heat generated from multiple DC fast-charge and wide open pedal events. This could mean that your vehicle could be prevented from starting or lose motive power while driving.
In an earlier safety recall, 22S41, new software was updated to monitor contactor temperature, reduce battery power to prevent further damage and alert owners of any damage. However, preexisting damage to components before the software was updated may reduce the software’s effectiveness.
You can see if your vehicle is included in this safety recall by entering your VIN here.
To have your High Voltage Battery Junction Box replaced, you can book your appointment in the Ford app, online, or by contacting your local Ford Dealer.
