The Ford app* disables Remote Start for Internal Combustion Engine (ICE), or Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV) vehicles or Climate Controls for Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) vehicles after the remote start limit is reached, and shows a message telling you to drive to reset. To reset the remote start limit, you must start and drive your vehicle.
Remote start becomes unavailable after two consecutive remote starts without an ignition cycle, triggering the remote start limit.
Important: When the feature is disabled, the button will not respond, and no error message will appear when tapping or sliding it. Instead, you can find the reason shown directly below the button in the app.
You can see status messages in the app or on your wearable device. Select the appropriate dropdown below for more information.
Once the limit is cleared, remote start functionality is restored.
If your remote commands fail after troubleshooting, contact Ford app support for additional assistance.
