How do I start or stop a charging session for my Ford electric vehicle?
You can control your charging session with the FordPass®* App.
Note: If you are using a charger that supports Plug & Charge, the session will begin automatically when you plug in your Ford electric vehicle (EV).
Starting and Stopping a Charging Session
Open FordPass and tap Energy.
Select Public Charging.
Use the Search field to search for a charger or select nearby public chargers on the map.
- Select the charge station you want to use.
- Charge station chargers with different max power outputs are separated by kilowatts (kW).
- Select the kW dropdown arrow next to the power output you want to use.
Match and select the charger's name or number to the one on FordPass and tap Start Charging.
- Plug in your vehicle when indicated by FordPass.
- Press the Stop button located in your vehicle's charge port once your vehicle reaches the desired charge level.
- Unplug the charging cord once the station indicates the session is over.
Note: FordPass offers additional options to stop your charging session for AC Level 1 and Level 2 charging locations:
- If you saved the charging location, tap Stop on the FordPass Vehicle screen or Energy screen.
- Otherwise, tap Stop on the FordPass Vehicle screen.
