Raising Heart Rates for 60+ Years

Whether you choose the new Mustang Dark Horse™ or the Mustang Mach-E® GT model, you don’t need a racetrack to have a great time behind the wheel. Though, there is a Mustang model for that, too.

A Look in the Rearview Mirror

Thanks to decades of envelope-pushing, the Ford Mustang Coupe is the longest continuously running sports car nameplate produced in North America. See how millions of drivers experienced the unbridled joy of the journey.

There’s a lot to see at The Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation in Dearborn, MI. But one particular mint-condition white convertible stands out — the very first serialized Mustang.

On April 17, 1964, at the World’s Fair in New York, Mustang was unveiled and changed how the world saw sports cars. Available as a hardtop or convertible with a 2+2 fastback added for 1965, it looked as fast as it felt.

The 1969 Mustang Mach 1 heralded a new wave of performance and customization. An optional 428 Cobra Jet engine achieved 335 rated horsepower. The Mach 1 was more than raw power; it was the complete package.
